Selling Yourself vs. Killing Yourself
Stay Free! editor-in-chief Carrie McClaren talks about some highlight's from Stay Free's! past, when it was only a zine.
One issue had a parody of The Gap's Khakis Swing ad where a stool is kicked over and a man's feet are dangling towards the top of the frame. He obviously committed suicide. A co-worker of Carrie's thought this was a sincere ad for The Gap.
Well, the parody almost fits in with the song the Gap used in the television promos:
"Jump, Jive an' Wail." If you take out the "jive" part and just call the song "Jump an' Wail," it's a dead ringer for a real Gap ad.
